In 2023, CannedWater4kids (CW4K) proudly teamed up with Water4 to make a profound difference in Uganda. Together, we embarked on a mission to provide sustainable, safe water solutions to children and schools in need.

Through our partnership, Water4’s innovative on-site piped water systems, known as NUMA Nows, were installed in 23 schools across two districts. We were excited to learn that because of our funding, 16 of these schools received these life-changing water systems.

This initiative has significantly enhanced the quality of life for 14,168 students and 400 teachers. For many of these individuals, the water provided at their schools is their only safe water source, as their homes lack this critical resource. Our commitment not only promotes a healthier learning environment but also serves as a lifeline for these communities.

The NUMA Now water systems are more than just a temporary solution. They are professionally managed and meticulously maintained by the dedicated team at 4Ward Development East Africa, ensuring the sustainability of this project. This ongoing care guarantees that the flow of safe water never ceases for the children and teachers reliant on it.

As a result, CW4K’s support of Water4 has provided more than just water; it has ensured thousands of students a safe, focused, and uninterrupted educational journey. By eliminating the need for students to fetch water from distant and often unsafe sources, the presence of NUMA water points has significantly improved both attendance and academic focus. Moreover, this upgrade in school facilities has helped retain quality educators, further enriching the learning environment.
